Artist Liz Collins’ Permanent Sunset is a fluid geometric story told in dynamic strips of color inspired by stills from the edgy 1982 cult classic film Liquid Sky, which zeroes in on the subculture of downtown New York’s club scene in the early New Wave era. Collins creatively captures the pleasure centers of our brains, a prominent aspect of the film’s story and art direction.
The Magic City has a special way of taking colors you wouldn't typically blend, creating a tropical vibe that thrives. Miami Nice is alive with vibrant oranges, greens, pale yellow, and turquoise tones, all calmed by the soft metallic pink background reminiscent of Ocean Drive.
Liz Collins, a Brooklyn-based RISD graduate and teacher, works fluidly between art and design, with emphasis and expertise in textile media. Collins' deconstructed fabric and knit-grafting works are in public collections in museums and gallery spaces nationwide.
*Please note: An inevitable overlap line appears every 5' when printing the full-color transparent background screen. The line is about 1/8" thick, and we do our best to ensure it is as discreet as possible. Please contact us if you have any concerns.
