Andy Warhol’s career started in shoe illustration, but it was a pile of shoes from his friend Halston sitting in his studio that inspired his iconic 1980 Diamond Dust Shoes screen print series centered on consumerism and glamour. Andy based the series on Polaroids he shot of the shoe piles, which Flavor Paper used as source imagery to create our Shoes wallpaper.
The Silver Diamond Dust colorway pays direct tribute to Warhol’s originals. Our version of diamond dust, created from eight shapes, sizes, and colors of glitter, is handscreened onto a matte ebony clay coated paper, exuding a dazzling opulence.
Andy Warhol was a leading figure in the pop art movement of the 1960s and is considered one of the most important artists of the late 20th Century. The Andy Warhol x Flavor Paper Collection represents our interpretations of Warhol's work—some iconic and others handpicked from deep in the artist's archives—released in a globally exclusive partnership with the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, which has been ongoing since 2013.
