Andy Warhol created his Dance Diagram series by tracing seven images from the 1956 book Fox Trot Made Easy by the Dance Guild. He then painted these tracings with precise, mechanical care, deliberately avoiding an "artistic" appearance to symbolize his dance between art and commerce. Flavor Paper’s Dance Diagram wallpaper brings together elements from several of these Warhol works, choreographing them into a lively arrangement of mixed moves.
The simple Black and White colorway is based on the original images and how Warhol painted the dance instructions to be as simple and graphic as possible.
Andy Warhol was a leading figure in the pop art movement of the 1960s and is considered one of the most important artists of the late 20th Century. The Andy Warhol x Flavor Paper Collection represents our interpretations of Warhol's work—some iconic and others handpicked from deep in the artist's archives—released in a globally exclusive partnership with the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, which has been ongoing since 2013.
