Globetrotter

Designer Jon Sherman created Globetrotter for his son’s room and Bugaboo stroller. The primary elements are from Andy Warhol’s Toy Paintings which were hand painted then silk screened on small canvases in 1983 for a show in Zurich. Warhol’s collection was globally sourced and he focused on the packaging with their vivid, commercial appeal. Jon only used transportation Toys including ships, speedboats, trains, muscle cars, helicopters, planes, and motorcycles with sidecars to emphasize travel and exploration. A polka dot pattern formed with globes showing the entire planet stretched the possibilities. An old French map was placed behind all of the elements as a guide to discover the world at large.  

A sky blue background and dark gray globes define the Shoreline colorway, allowing the vibrant purple, green, red, blue, yellow, and orange Toys to stand out and pop.

Andy Warhol was a leading figure in the pop art movement of the 1960s and is considered one of the most important artists of the late 20th Century. The Andy Warhol x Flavor Paper Collection represents our interpretations of Warhol's work—some iconic and others handpicked from deep in the artist's archives—released in a globally exclusive partnership with the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, which has been ongoing since 2013.
