Élan Vital is a romantic meets rock and roll modern interpretation of a floral still life. Utilizing the incomparable floral arranging skills of Ovando, this refreshing atmospheric take on the classic work of art evokes a similar reproduction of inanimate flowers, but at an ultra hi-res level of photographic detail captured by Skot Yobauje Photography. Flavor Paper worked closely with Ovando to create dynamically shaped floral arrangements featuring a global selection of flora. While traditional still life artists were limited to what was available locally, we utilized an incredibly broad range of global floral species.
Tropical is a digitally printed pattern with a repeating floral arrangement. The flowers feature purple and white passion flowers, pink and red dahlias, orange ginger blossoms, bromeliads, violet and speckled orchids, yellow ranunculus, and green air plants and succulents in incredible detail.
Sandra de Ovando was born in Mexico City and fell in love with nature, flowers and bold colors at a very young age when she spent countless weekends gardening with her mother. Later, in her travels throughout Europe and Asia, Sandra discovered exquisite flowers and plants, and from there, her love for design was born. Her namesake floral design business, Ovando, started in New York in 2003 specializing in simple, colorful, sophisticated arrangements.
