Verdant Shrine

Sebastian Wahl’s Verdant Shrine features 25 unique collages made to emulate shrines that celebrate the surreal. The shrines are suspended amongst a backdrop of dense green foliage and appear to be floating out from behind the leaves. Each one offers its personal intentions of protection, love, prosperity and healing.

The digitally printed Lush colorway speaks to the deep layered greenery that creates the calm and natural background for the highly detailed, colorful shrines.

Sebastian Wahl is a Swedish born, New York based multimedia collage artist. Wahl’s work shifts between imaginary landscapes, Mandalas and figurative elaborations. The images within the work coalesce to create new realities ranging from the ancient to the futuristic. The shape-shifting narrative scenes burst with modern symbology that combine imagery of the paranormal, tribal and spiritual paths from cultures around the world alongside a cornucopia of everyday objects and anything found in nature.
