Queen Elizabeth is a wallpaper interpretation of Warhol’s Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, from the 1985 Reigning Queens series, which he based on a 1975 formal photograph of her majesty adorned in royal regalia, including the Vladimir Tiara and Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee necklace. In a nod to Warhol’s wallpaper designs, we have the Queen repeating as a half drop but it can be installed straight across as well.
The Deep Purple colorway is one of the four versions Andy created and presents her majesty with pale pink skin, light blue and white jewelry, pink accents, orange sash, blue outline and an emerald green dress set against a background with light yellow and coral pink color blocks on a dark violet background.
Andy Warhol was a leading figure in the pop art movement of the 1960s and is considered one of the most important artists of the late 20th Century. The Andy Warhol x Flavor Paper Collection represents our interpretations of Warhol's work—some iconic and others handpicked from deep in the artist's archives—released in a globally exclusive partnership with the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, which has been ongoing since 2013.
