Mock Rock was inspired by a natural rock wall fireplace at designer Ghislaine Viñas’s PA home, where she painted the rocks white, making it more about the texture and less about the natural stone. Sitting in front of the fire one winter, she extracted the shapes and created a sketch for the design. Working with husband Jaime Viñas, Ghislaine manipulated the images to create the final design. “I simply love the idea of taking a wall texture and creating a tongue-in-cheek variation of it,” said Ghislaine.
Playful yet timelessly elegant, the Opal colorway features rock shapes outlined in black, resembling mortar, set against a crisp white background.
Ghislaine Viñas is a New York-based designer from the Netherlands who was raised in South Africa. Well known for her award-winning interior design, Ghislaine has produced dramatic compositions and playful color contrasts within exuberant designs around the globe.
