An 18th century etching provided the base for Arbor Vitae, a grand Chinoiserie-style tree full of life and sustenance. Flavor Paper transformed it from traditional to contemporary and engaging by enlarging it and colorizing each element individually. Many have color blends within them that add a natural and energetic feel to a tranquil concept.
Digitally printed on a textured, non-woven material, Dawn feels very soft. It features tones of light pink to peach in the background ombré, balancing the more vibrant colors in the birds, bees, fruits, and flowers detailed in the design.
Flavor Paper founder Jon Sherman purchased this etching torn out of an old book from a woman who scours estate sales in rural France and sells from a storage area in industrial Brooklyn. We see potential beauty in the strangest places and then let it grow to its full potential.
