An 18th Century etching provided the base for Arbor Vitae, a grand Chinoiserie style tree full of life and sustenance. Flavor Paper took it from traditional to contemporary and engaging by enlarging it and colorizing each element individually. Many have color blends within them that add a natural and energetic feel to a tranquil concept.
Digitally printed on a lovely non-woven material, Dawn feels very soft. It's light pink to peach ombre, which balances out the more vibrant colors in the birds, bees, fruits, and flowers detailed in the design.
Flavor Paper founder Jon Sherman purchased this etching torn out of an old book from a woman who scours estate sales in rural France and sells from a storage area in industrial Brooklyn. You must see potential beauty in the strangest places and then let it grow to its full potential.
