Ivanka Trump had designed her new jewelry store and New York City apartment and was revved up for another project, so Glamour offered her a make over challenge. Ivanka’s assistant Darcy McNutt had a one-bedroom apartment that was far from pretty and needed some glamour, so Trump decided to work her magic on it.
As VP of The Trump Organization, Ivanka was no stranger to posh digs and distinctive style. She was also no stranger to Flavor Paper, which has been used in previous Trump projects, and became the focal point of the apartment redesign. According to Ivanka, “The place to experiment with color is on your walls.” She used Flavor Paper’s Silver Ponyskin wallpaper in Darcy’s living room to “have fun with your walls” and the result was “gutsy, unexpected, and gorgeous.” As Ivanka was trying to maintain a budget, since it wasn’t HER apartment, Ponyskin without a printed pattern worked perfectly at $100 per roll.
